PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel-material discrimination system and a steel-material discrimination method, which are capable of discriminating a material such as steel material with improved accuracy.SOLUTION: A steel-material discrimination system, for use in discriminating whether or not a steel material meets a specified condition, includes: a transfer part for moving the steel material to an inspection position; a presser part for press-holding the steel material moved to the inspection position by the transfer part; an X-ray analysis part for calculating content of a predetermined component of the steel material by applying a fluorescent X-ray analysis to the steel material after the steel material moved to the inspection position is press-held by the presser part; and a determination part for determining whether or not the content of the predetermined component of the steel material calculated by the X-ray analysis part satisfies a predetermined reference, and discriminating that the steel material does not satisfy the specified condition if the content does not satisfy the predetermined reference. |
