PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a method of controlling the same, which can prevent forgetting to remove a portable storage medium such as a USB memory and can shorten a period of time for mounting the portable storage medium.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: a portable storage medium IF part 116 which detects mounting and dismounting of a portable storage medium 190 and reads out image data from the portable storage medium 190 which is mounted on it; an operation part 114 which accepts input of conditions for image forming processing based on the image data; and an image forming part 112 which executes image forming processing in accordance with the image data read out from the portable storage medium 190 and the conditions that are inputted. The operation part 114 accepts input of conditions for image forming processing after the image data is read out from the portable storage medium 190 and removal of the portable storage medium 190 is detected. Thus, the portable storage medium is reliably prevented from being forgotten to be removed, and a period of time for mounting can be minimized. |
