PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle brake system that can favorably protect an electric motor even when leakage of operating liquid for operating braking means occurs.SOLUTION: A vehicle brake system 10 comprise: a motor cylinder device 16 for letting brake liquid generate liquid pressure according to operation amount of a break pedal 12 operated by a driver by driving an electric motor 72 ; and control means 150 having determination means for determining whether or not liquid leakage of brake liquid occurs. The control means 150 can set a limit either on drive currents supplied to the electric motor 72 or on the liquid pressure generated at the motor cylinder device 16, and when determining that the leakage of the brake liquid occurs, limits the drive current supplied to the electric motor 72. A control method of the vehicle brake system 10 is also disclosed. |
