PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of accurately detecting an end of a recording medium in a main scanning direction using an optical sensor in both of a forward path and a return path of a main scanning direction of a carriage.SOLUTION: A recording device includes a recording head discharging ink from a plurality of nozzles and recording an image in a recording medium and an optical sensor disposed on a conveyance direction downstream side of a nozzle formed on an uppermost stream side of the conveyance direction of a plurality of nozzles, and further includes a carriage movable in a main scanning direction. Discharge amount of ink is calculated from image data to be used for single scanning of the carriage. When the discharge amount of ink discharged to an end of main scanning direction of the recording medium exceeds a threshold, the level of a signal transmitted from the optical sensor is adjusted. |
