PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leg rest mechanism having a simple structure.SOLUTION: The leg rest mechanism comprises: a leg rest 31, the upper end of which is rotatably fitted to a sheet 1; a rack 61 that is rotatably fitted to a part other than a rotation center of the leg rest 31, and has a plurality of teeth 61a formed along one side thereof; a pinion 43 that is threadedly geared with the teeth 61a of the rack 61; a motor 37 that is provided on the sheet 1 and rotatingly drives the pinion 43 in the forward direction/reverse direction; a mechanical clutch mechanism 42a that is provided between the motor 37 and the pinion 43 and transmits/cuts off a power from the motor 37 to the pinion 43; a collar (a guide mechanism) 39 that guides the rack 61 such that the teeth 61a of the rack 61 are threadedly engaged with the pinion 43; and an electromagnetic brake (a retaining mechanism) 37a that prohibits the rotation of the morot 37 when un-driving state of the motor and retains the position of the leg rest 31. |
