PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a variable power ratio of 15 times or more, regardless of a substantially wide angle, a half angle of view at a wide angle end of 42 degrees or more, to achieve miniaturization, and to obtain a resolution corresponding to an imaging element of 10 to 15 million pixels.SOLUTION: A zoom lens is configured by arranging, in order from an object side, a first lens group G1 having positive refractive power, a second lens group G2 having negative refractive power, a third lens group G3 having positive refractive power, and a fourth lens group G4 having positive refractive power. The second lens group G2 comprises three lenses of a fourth lens L4 of a first negative lens, a fifth lens L5 of a second negative lens, and a sixth lens L6 of a positive lens, in order from the object side. An aspherical surface in the second lens group G2 exists in only the second negative lens. The zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (1): 0.05<|f2|/ft<0.15 (1), where f2 is the focal length of the second lens group and ft is the focal length of the entire system at a telephoto end. |
