PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the occurrence of electrostatic defects.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a first substrate. The first substrate comprises: an insulating substrate; a first semiconductor layer positioned in an active area in which an image is displayed on the insulating substrate and formed in an island shape, and a second semiconductor layer positioned outside the active area and formed in an island shape; a first insulator film covering the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer; gate wiring that is formed on the first insulator film and extends in a first direction, and that includes a gate electrode in a position intersecting the first semiconductor layer and an intersection part in a position intersecting the second semiconductor layer; a second insulator film covering the gate wiring; source wiring that is formed on the second insulator film, extends in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and includes a source electrode in contact with the first semiconductor layer; a drain electrode that is formed on the second insulator film, is separated from the source wiring, and is in contact with the first semiconductor layer; and a pixel electrode electrically connected to the drain electrode. |
