PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminance control method for a crystal display device which can prevent a contrast ratio from decreasing even when a panel temperature changes.SOLUTION: Since a correlation between a panel temperature of a liquid crystal panel and luminance of black video is obtained in the state that a backlight device is set to a reference offset value, and the correlation and the panel temperature are used to adjust the offset value of the backlight device, it is possible to have the offset value to follow the panel temperature when the panel temperature has changed. That is, when the panel temperature rises, the offset value is decreased; when the panel temperature lowers, the offset value is increased. Thus, luminance of the black video is kept constant, and the contrast ratio is kept constant. When used in a multi-display, a contrast ratio of each liquid crystal display device can be unified, and display of a high picture quality is possible. |
