PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a cable bead allowing satisfactory working efficiency during manufacturing and having excellent packing characteristics; and a pneumatic tire using the cable bead.SOLUTION: A cable bead 10 includes: a core formed in an annular shape by butt-welding both ends of a core filament 2 with each other; and a sheath obtained by spirally winding a plurality of sheath filaments 3 around the core. When a wire diameter of the core filament 2 is represented by dc (mm), and a wire diameter of the sheath filaments 3 is represented by ds (mm), dc and ds satisfy a relationship expressed by the following formula (1): 0.30≤ds/dc≤0.58. |
