PURPOSE: A method for generating a marker based on a user interaction and an apparatus thereof are provided to acquire a stereoscopic image by a selection action of a user and to use an object that the user intends to use as a marker, thereby improving user convenience. CONSTITUTION: An image acquisition unit outputs an image acquired by a user(S110). A user input unit is inputted with a signal to select a position which is the position selected by the user based on the output image(S120). A marker determination unit determines a temporary area based on the signal to select the position(S130). The marker determination unit converts the temporary area into a predetermined marker shape and determines the converted marker shape as a final marker(S140).
