PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an error correction capability without unreasonably adding to the size of an error correction circuit.SOLUTION: As shown in the figure, a coding method includes the steps of: dividing a single page of data yet to be coded into data blocks ranging from the first one at one end of the single page to the fourth one at the other end; coding the first data block to produce a first error correcting code; coding the second data block plus a part of the first data block to produce a second error correcting code; performing the same process on the third data block as on the second data block; and coding the fourth data block plus a part of the third data block to produce a fourth error correcting code. |
