PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a user-friendliness during input of characters.SOLUTION: When an input area 112 is put into a state in which selected characters are received, an input support device 100 detects a peripheral character string of the input area 112. The input support device 100 specifies an item name of the input area 112 from the peripheral character string. The input support device 100, upon receipt of character input to the input area 112 from a user, performs the retrieval of a sentence example using a sentence example DB 130 which associates and stores the item name and the sentence example. For example, the input support device 100 displays the conversion candidate of a name such as "Sakura Taro" when the item name specified as the conversion candidate of an input character string "S" is "Name", and displays the conversion candidate of a department such as "Sales Department" when the specified item name is "Section". |
