PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape-shaped printing medium whose own attribute information can be decoded in a set state and a tape printing device for printing the same.SOLUTION: The tape cartridge 2 includes a tape-shaped printing medium (tape T) provided by laminating a printing tape and a release paper P, in which the color of the release paper P expresses the attribute information of the tape T and the color of the release paper P is constituted to be capable of being detected at an arbitrary position along the extension direction of the tape T. The tape printing device 1, furthermore, is a tape printing device outfitted with the tape cartridge 2 for printing the printing tape and comprises a light reception element (photosensor 19s) for detecting at least one of the lightness, chroma, and hue of the color of the release paper P an attribute information analysis unit (control unit 30) for analyzing the attribute information based on the color of the release paper P detected by the light reception element and a print control unit (control unit 30) for controlling printing based on the attribute information analyzed by the attribute information analysis unit. |
