PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for forming a thick film active material layer well, in a method and an apparatus of manufacturing an electrode for battery where a layer of active material is formed on the surface of a substrate.SOLUTION: A metallic sheet becoming a collector is carried at a constant speed (step S101), and on the conveyance path thereof, a skeleton pattern is formed by applying a first coating liquid of high viscosity and then drying (steps S102, S103), an active material film is formed of a second coating liquid of low viscosity (steps S104, S105), and then pressing is performed sequentially on the active material film thus formed (step S106) before taking up the sheet (step S107). A thick film active material layer can be formed by partially forming a pattern, having a large projection height from the sheet surface, of the first coating liquid of high viscosity, thereby suppressing spread of the second coating liquid of low viscosity. |
