PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted information input/output device and a head-mounted information input/output method that are capable of reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: A head-mounted information input/output device comprises: a display unit that displays an image; a holding unit that holds the display unit in the vicinity of a user's eye; a plurality of illumination units that are provided on the display unit, and illuminate the vicinity of the user's eye; and a control unit that controls lighting states of the plurality of illumination units in accordance with a positional relationship between the user and the display unit.
