PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water storage type water heater capable of reliably suppressing occurrence of hot water shortage and keeping efficiency of boiling operation by heating means high, while minimizing the number of collection ports through which return heat source water returning from a use-side heat exchanger for heating a heated object to a hot water storage tank is collected into a hot water storage tank, and eliminating a need for a temperature sensor to detect the temperature of the return heat source water.SOLUTION: A hot water storage type water heater 100 includes; control means (a control part 70) for selecting either heat source water upside-return operation with which the heat source water taken out of an upside region of a hot water storage tank 10 leads via an use-side heat exchanger 22 and then flows into the upside region of the hot water storage tank 10, or heat source water downside-return operation with which the heat source water taken out of the upside region of the hot water storage tank 10 leads via the use-side heat exchanger 22 and then flows into the downside region of the hot water storage tank 10, on the basis of required heating capability. |
