PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission device for reducing a load on a network and a cost in a server and also suppressing the deterioration of recognition accuracy due to the reduction concerning the image transmission device in an image recognition authentication system for transmitting an image obtained by image capturing by a camera to the server and performing subject recognition authentication processing on the basis of an image in the server.SOLUTION: An image transmission device 10 includes: an image input unit 12 for receiving the input of multiple continuous images; a data amount reduction unit 15 for generating a data amount reduction image by reducing the data amounts of multiple images input to the image input unit 12; and a transmission unit 19 for transmitting a data amount reduction image to an image reception device for performing recognition authentication processing with respect to a data amount reduction image. The data amount reduction unit 15 reduces the data amount of multiple images by a reduction method corresponding to recognition authentication processing to be performed in the image reception device 20.
