PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently dissipate heat generated from a laser beam generating element.SOLUTION: An optical pickup device comprises: a hosing having a bottom and sides surrounding the bottom, and being open at the top thereof; a laser beam emitting element mounted in the housing and configured to record or read information with respect to an optical disk; an optical component mounted in the housing and arranged on the optical path of the laser beam; a rigid substrate attached to the housing so as to overlap the laser beam emitting element from the top side, and having thereon a conduction pattern for transmitting a drive signal to the laser beam generating element in order to emit the laser beam and a heat conduction pattern for taking in heat generated by the laser beam generating element; and a metal cover attached to the housing so as to overlap the rigid substrate from the top side and configured to take in heat from the heat conduction pattern. |
