PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for cleaning magnetic powder, in each of which the magnetic powder, which is used as an adsorbent for adsorbing oils and fats when water is treated, can be recovered in high efficiency by a smaller energy consumption.SOLUTION: The apparatus for cleaning magnetic powder has: a cleaning tank for desorbing oils and fats from the magnetic powder by an action of a cleaning solvent; a solid-liquid separation unit for supplying the oil/fat-adsorbed magnetic powder to the cleaning tank; an agitation screw for agitating/mixing the oil/fat-adsorbed magnetic powder with the cleaning solvent in the cleaning tank to obtain a liquid mixture; a liquid mixture circulation line in which the liquid mixture is circulated/fluidized to promote the desorption of the adsorbed oils and fats from the oil/fat-adsorbed magnetic powder; a bar magnet for magnetically attracting or distracting the magnetic powder in the liquid mixture in the cleaning tank; a solvent regeneration tank for regenerating the cleaning solvent from the liquid mixture; a regenerated solvent return line for returning the regenerated solvent to the cleaning tank from the solvent regeneration tank; a liquid mixture withdrawal line for discharging the liquid mixture to the solvent regeneration tank from the cleaning tank during the time when the magnetic powder is attracted to the bar magnet; a magnetic powder withdrawal line for discharging the magnetic powder from the cleaning tank; an oil and fat discharge line for discharging the desorbed oils and fats from the solvent regeneration tank; and a sludge discharge line for discharging sludge from the solvent regeneration tank. |
