OPTICAL READING METHOD FOR LEAFLET PRINTING MEDIUM, AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical reading method with which read accuracy is improved by correctly reading image data without being affected by conveyance displacement of leaves caused by friction between the leaves and a scanner.SOLUTION: An optical reading method includes: a first step of reading a passbook in a spread state in one direction by means of a contact scanner and storing image data read from a lower page of the passbook; a second step of reading the same passbook in a reverse direction and storing the image data read from an upper page of the passbook; a third step of forming complete image data by coupling the image data read from the lower page and the image data read from the upper page in such a manner that the upper page and the lower page are continued; and a fourth step of performing image analysis processing on the complete image data.
