PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell and a solar cell module in which, while high initial output is retained intact, output degradation is extremely small, even when used in a hot and humid severe environment.SOLUTION: Provided is a solar cell, in which the light receiving surface of a semiconductor substrate is covered with a reflection prevention film, and which is characterized in that when the thickness and the refractive index of the reflection prevention film are assumed to be X and Y respectively, the expression (1) below is satisfied.
