PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce production cost by making common shapes of main components constituting a braking device.SOLUTION: There is provided a braking device including a cylindrical peripheral wall 10; a first end wall 20 arranged at one end side of the peripheral wall 10; a second end wall 30 arranged at the other end side of the peripheral wall 10; a working chamber 60 surrounded by the peripheral wall 10, the first end wall 20, and the second end wall 30; a rotating plate 70 arranged between the first end wall 20 and the second end wall 30 in the working chamber 60; a magnetic viscous fluid 80 filling the working chamber 60; and a coil 50 for generating a magnetic field to be applied to the magnetic viscous fluid 80. When the magnetic field is generated, the first end wall 20 and the second end wall 30 constitute a magnetic path, and at least the first end wall 20 and the second end wall 30 have the same shape and same weight. |
