PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in an authentication based charging system that when a device not registered for authentication or a device not having an authentication function is to be charged, a mechanism for authenticating with an authentication card may be conceived, but such a mechanism requires separately installing an apparatus, such as a card reader for reading data from an authentication card, which is irrelevant to the device to be charged.SOLUTION: A charging unit comprises: an acquisition part which acquires authentication information when an authentication device having authentication information stored therein is placed on a placement table and device information on a non-authentication device which does not have authentication information stored therein and which is the object to be charged; and a charging part which, when device information was acquired by the acquisition part, charges the rechargeable battery of the non-authentication device and does not charge the rechargeable battery of the authentication device. |
