PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial foil bearing that can have an excellent performance associated with load capability and dynamic characteristics of a bearing by reducing strain generated in a top foil, and is further improved in an attenuation effect.SOLUTION: There is provided a radial foil bearing 3 which supports a rotary shaft 1. The radial foil bearing includes a top foil 9, an intermediate foil 10, a back foil 11, and a bearing housing 12 which houses them. On both side faces of the bearing housing 12, engagement recessed parts 35 extending from inner peripheral edges to outer peripheral edges of the bearing housing 12 are formed opposite each other, and a plurality of pairs of those engagement recessed parts 35 are formed in a peripheral direction of the bearing housing 12. The intermediate foil 10 has a plurality of intermediate foil pieces 10a arranged along the peripheral direction of the bearing housing 12. The intermediate foil piece 10a has engagement projection pieces 10b which engage the engagement recessed parts 35 respectively. |
