PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace body cooling method with high reliability, capable of sufficiently cooling for a long term without the possibility of damaging a metallurgical furnace such as an electrical furnace, and provide a metallurgical furnace.SOLUTION: A cooling method of a metallurgical furnace is a furnace body cooling method of a metallurgical furnace 1 in which a furnace body 7 is held by a trunnion ring 5 tiltably supported by a trunnion shaft 3. The cooling method of the metallurgical furnace supplies compression air with a pressure of 0.3 MPa or more and 0.7 MPa or less into the trunnion ring 5 through an air gap 19 excluding a transport pipe 15 of the trunnion shaft 3 from the shaft end side of the trunnion shaft 3, and cools the furnace body 7 by injecting the compression air onto the surface of the metallurgical furnace 1 from the trunnion ring 5. |
