PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a phosphor precursor making composition of phosphor particles uniform.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a phosphor precursor containing a garnet phase represented by following composition formula (1), (AB)CO(1), where A is one or more kinds of rare earth elements selected from Y, Gd and Lu, B is Ce and/or Tb, x satisfies 0.002≤x≤0.2, and C is Al and/or Ga, includes adding urea to an aqueous suspension in which rare earth element salts are dissolved while suspending γ alumina particles having a specific surface area by BET method of 50 m/g or more, heating them to obtain mixed fine particles of the γ alumina particles and the rare earth element salts, separating the mixed fine particles from the aqueous suspension after heating, burning the separated mixed fine particles at 1,000°C or less to obtain mixed fine particle oxides of rare earth oxides and alumina. |
