<p>The invention relates to a gamma camera system (3) with high sensitivity and high spatial resolution. The gamma camera comprises a collimator (4) containing orifices (14) of length substantially equal to or greater than their depth, and a detector (5) placed behind the collimator (4). The gamma rays output from the gamma-ray emitter (1) pass through the collimator (4) in these orifices (14) before meeting the detector (5). Electrical signals generated by the detector (5) and the position of the gamma camera (3) relative to the gamma-ray emitter (1) allow the radiation density rho(x,y,z) emitted by the gamma-ray emitter (1) to be reconstructed.</p> |
