The tarpaulin has a tarpaulin material, where the tarpaulin material is fixed in an area of an opening of a tarpaulin structure (1) to a clamping unit of a top frame of the tarpaulin structure. A terminal strip is made from an extruded portion, particularly aluminum or aluminum-based alloy. The clamping unit and the terminal strip have an undercut, in which a projection penetrates the terminal strip and the clamping unit. An independent claim is included for a holding profile for a tarpaulin.
