PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production method including a concentration process of a hydrogen iodide or hydrogen bromide aqueous solution, which is preferable with regard to energy efficiency.SOLUTION: The hydrogen production method includes following steps (a) to (d): the step (a) of obtaining a raw material hydrogen halide aqueous solution (HI+HO(raw material)) by a Bunsen reaction, the step (b) of supplying the raw material hydrogen halide aqueous solution to the concentration side (32) and the permeation side (34) of a water permselective membrane, pressing the aqueous solution on the concentration side, and taking out the aqueous solutions on the concentration side and the permeation side as a concentrated hydrogen halide aqueous solution (HI+HO(concentrated)) and a diluted hydrogen halide aqueous solution (HI+HO(diluted)), respectively, the step (c) of separating a hydrogen halide gas (HI(g)) from the concentrated hydrogen halide aqueous solution, and the step (d) of obtaining hydrogen (H) and halogen (I) by decomposing the hydrogen halide gas, wherein the halogen mentioned above is iodine or bromine. |
