PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which has excellent mechanical strength and high adhesion to a substrate, a low refractive index antireflection film obtained by applying the coating composition to a substrate, and a transparent member coated with the film.SOLUTION: The coating composition contains: a colloidal silica (a) which has an average primary particle diameter of 10-100 nm, a dispersed particle diameter as measured by a dynamic light scattering method of 10-150 nm, and a refractive index of particles of 1.35-1.50; and a binder (b) which contains a hydrolysis condensate of a silicon compound represented by general formula (1) SiR(In the formula, R represents an alkoxy group having 1-20 carbon atoms, an acyloxy group having 2-20 carbon atoms, or a halogen group.) and a metal salt. |
