PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character string inclined illusion generation apparatus, a character string inclined illusion generation method, a printing medium manufacturing method, an electronic medium manufacturing method and a program capable of automatically creating a character string causing a character string inclined illusion from an arbitrary character set.SOLUTION: The character string inclined illusion generation apparatus stores a character image of plural characters and a test image in which one or more line segments or graphics are arranged in a character disposition direction using a graphic having a shape close to a shape of a line segment or a line segment in the character disposition direction as one character unit; generates a character test image by replacing the line segment or graphic equivalent to one character unit on the test image with the character image of the stored characters; calculates a difference of azimuth component between the character test image of characters and the test image before replaced with the characters using a filter having an orientation selectivity in the vicinity of character disposition direction; and creates a character string for generating a character string inclined illusion by disposing characters selected from the plural characters in the character disposition direction using a small difference in azimuth component as a reference.
