PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method in which a long-life heat exchanger is obtained by removing scale sticking during a hot-water supply operation without using liquid chemicals, and thereby preventing the heat exchanger from decreasing in quality.SOLUTION: There can be provided an operating method capable of exhibiting scale removal effects by a pulse without dispersion by applying one pulse generated by a pulse generation part 11 to one of heat exchangers 5a-5e. There can be provided the operating method that naturally reduces scale sticking since a heat exchanger to which scale sticking may occur decreases in heat transfer performance and flow rate by supplying a uniform water flow to the heat exchangers in order. Further, there can be provided an operating method that can remove sticking scale by concentrically applying pulses to a heat exchanger having the sticking scale since uniform pulses are applied in order and the heat exchanger having the sticking scale can be therefore detected and specified from change of the water flow.
