PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for regenerating an adsorbing material, in each of which adsorptivity of activated carbon is recovered by heat-treating the activated carbon at comparatively low temperature so that the heat-treated activated carbon can be reused.SOLUTION: The apparatus for regenerating the adsorbing material, in which adsorbed substances stuck to the adsorbing material used for cleaning contaminated water are removed to regenerate the adsorbing material, includes an adsorbing material storage part 102, a carrier gas supply part 1, a water supply part 101 and a heat source part 103 and is configured so that a water-containing carrier gas of 100°C or lower temperature is supplied to the adsorbing material storage part 102 and the carrier gas-supplied adsorbing material in the adsorbing material storage part 102 is heated to 400°C or lower temperature by using the heat from the heat source part 103 to remove the adsorbed substances stuck to the adsorbing material. |
