A storage cartridge suitable for storing flexible barriers and other flexible materials suitable for roll up is described. Once the flexible material has been extracted from the cartridge, it can be retracted back into the cartridge by winding around an interior shaft within the cartridge. The casing of the storage cartridge may be formed from plastic or other materials.
