PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system capable of providing each user with information corresponding to a position by detecting the position on a screen designated by each of a plurality of users referring to the screen of a display, an information providing method and a computer program.SOLUTION: In an information distribution system including a computer 1 having a storage part for storing information having a hierarchical structure, a display 2 connected to the computer 1 to display the information, and a portable communication device 3 for communicating with the computer 1, the portable communication device 3 has an image acquisition part for imaging a portion of information displayed on the display 2 to acquire an image, and a transmission part for transmitting the acquired image to the computer 1, and the computer 1 has a reading part for reading information having a hierarchical structure from the storage part on the basis of the image transmitted from the portable communication device 3, and a transmission part for transmitting the read information to the portable communication device 3. |
