PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for an electric double-layer capacitor and an electric double-layer capacitor using the same excellent in high-temperature characteristics.SOLUTION: The electrode for an electric double-layer capacitor and the electric double-layer capacitor using the same according to the present invention includes at least: collectors 2a and 3a; and polarizable electrode layers 2b and 3b electrically connected to the collectors 2a and 3a. A protective layer 8 containing phosphorus is adhered over the surface of the collectors 2a and 3a. When the collectors 2a and 3a having the protective layer 8 is soaked in water, the quantity of phosphorus compound dissolved into the water is 1.35 mg/mor less par unit surface of the collectors 2a and 3a in phosphorus equivalent. With this, the heat resistance of the electrode for an electric double-layer capacitor and the electric double-layer capacitor is enhanced, and the charging/discharging can be made for long period with reduced characteristic deterioration. |
