<p>The filtration method comprises passing the contaminated liquid through the prim. stage and discharging the filtrate. At a predetermined level of contaminants on the primary filter, filtration n this stage is stopped and the cake removed from the filter. Filtered solids and unclarified liquids from the primary stage are passed to the sec. stage and filtration is begun here, this filtrate being passed to chamber. At a specified level of contaminants on the elements of the sec. filter, the filter cake is removed, passed to an auger and heated to remove at least part of the liquid. The solids are elevated vertically to drain by gravity and discharged dry at the top of the auger. The filtrate from the secondary chamber has added to its quantity of filter aid and it is then passed to the prim. chamber to renew the filtering elements there.</p> |
