The chain- or belt drive train has a chain (7) or a belt, which runs about a chain- or belt pulley that is driven by a drive motor and about another chain- or belt pulley that is rotatable around an axis. A driver (8) for an object to be moved linearly over the chain- or belt drive is arranged on the chain or the belt. The latter chain- or belt pulley is rotatably mounted on a carriage, which is automatically and linearly moved by a clamping device for maintaining the chain- or belt tension.
