PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of special color inks used in printing of image data for which color is reproduced only with special colors other than CMYK so as to reduce printing costs.SOLUTION: An LUT generating device generates an LUT for converting first image data for which color is reproduced with a plurality of special colors other than CMYK to second image data for which color is reproduced with some of the plurality of special colors and K. The LUT generating device determines whether colors reproduced with the plurality of special colors on the basis of the first image data can be reproduced with some of the plurality of special colors and K. When it is determined that the color reproduction is possible, the LUT generating device generates an LUT on the basis of a colorimetric value of a color chart that is printed with the plurality of special colors and a colorimetric value of a color chart that is printed with some of the plurality of special colors and K.
