PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with few short-circuit failures.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises an organic light emitting element 8 having a first electrode 2, an organic light-emitting layer 3, and a second electrode 4 formed over the surface of the substrate 1. The organic light emitting element 8 has a storage concave potion 7 for storing organic light emitting element 8 and is covered and sealed by a sealing substrate 5 bonded to the substrate 1. The second electrode 4 has a thermal shrinking structure 11 which shrinks by the heat. The thermal shrinking structure 11 shrinks by the heat generated at a point having electrodes the distance therebetween is smaller when the power is supplied; thereby the distance between the first electrode 2 and the second electrode 4 is made larger in the point where the distance between the electrodes is smaller. |
