PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine or a washing and drying machine capable of suppressing creases caused by dewatering and performing efficient dewatering.SOLUTION: The washing machine or the washing and drying machine includes: an outer tub; an inner tub rotatably disposed in the outer tub and housing laundry; a motor for driving the inner tub; a case for supporting the outer tub and forms an interior; a fan for blowing air into the inner tub; air intake means for taking air of the outside of the case into an air duct; and exhaust means for discharging the air taken by the intake means to the outside of the case. The washing machine or the washing and drying machine drives the fan during a dewatering process to discharge the air taken by the intake means from the exhaust means through the inside of the inner tub.
