PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device and an image forming apparatus configured in such way that first and second driven members are driven by a single drive source and that a drive system of the second driven member is provided with a clutch, in which influences of impacts during engaging and releasing the clutch on the first driven member can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A drive device 100 drives to rotate a first driven member 1 and a second driven member 40 by a single drive source and includes a clutch CL for engaging and releasing the drive to and from the second driven member 40. The clutch CL includes a driving member 111, a drive-side engaging member 113, a driven-side engaging member 114, biasing means 112, a release member 115 having a cam surface for engaging or releasing an engagement between the drive-side engaging member 113 and the driven-side engaging member 114, and a cam member 116 having a cam surface engaging with the cam surface of the release member 115. At least one of the releasing member 115 and the cam member 116 has a portion formed of an elastic member, which collides with the other when the release member 115 is moved in an axial direction so as to bring at least the release member 115 and the cam member 116 to be closer to each other. |
