This organic EL device is provided with: a flexible substrate; an organic EL section that is provided on the flexible substrate; an external terminal, which is provided on the flexible substrate, and which is provided in a flexible substrate region different from a region where the organic EL section is provided, and which is electrically connected to the organic EL section via wiring that is provided on the flexible substrate; an inorganic sealing film, which has an inorganic material as a main component, and which covers the organic EL section; and a resin sealing film, which has a resin material as a main component, and which covers the inorganic sealing film. The flexible substrate has a bending portion between the region where the organic EL section is formed, and the region where the external terminal is formed. An external terminal-side extending end of the inorganic sealing film is positioned closer to the organic EL section than the bending portion. Furthermore, an external terminal-side extending end of the resin sealing film is positioned closer to the external terminal than the bending portion. |
