PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polymer containing (poly)alkylene glycol chains suitably usable for various uses such as a cement admixture, capable to express high dispersion performance to a cement composition.SOLUTION: A monomer composition contains an unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether-based monomer and its isomers, and the content of the isomers is 20 pts.mass or less based on 100 pts.mass of the unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether-based monomer, and the unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether-based monomer is represented by the following formula (1) and isomers of the unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether-based monomer are represented by the following formula (2).
