PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information processing apparatus capable of securing a frame rate suitable for display of moving images even after detection of low-brightness light, and securing a wide dynamic range.SOLUTION: An image information processing apparatus sets a multiplication factor used by an electron multiplier unit according to brightness information of a single pixel, and the electron multiplier unit multiplies photo-electrons detected by a photodiode. In this case, the image information processing apparatus compares a detection potential of the photodiode Vpix with a threshold potential of a comparator Vth to detect a reduction degree of the potential Vpix, and thereby to detect the brightness information. When the detection potential Vpix does not cross over the threshold potential Vth even after the lapse of the maximum exposure time, the image information processing apparatus multiplies the electrons by forcibly setting the multiplication factor to the maximum value. |
