PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of determining whether or not a photoreceptor reached a time for replacement, the time for replacement of the photoreceptor for preventing the occurrence of a fluctuation in density during a job due to deterioration of the photoreceptor associating with repeated use, and predicting the time for replacement of the photoreceptor regardless of a use environment and use condition of the photoreceptor.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: at least, a photoreceptor; charging means for performing charging processing to the photoreceptor; exposure means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor after the charging processing; and developing means for visualizing the electrostatic latent image. The image forming apparatus further comprises: surface potential measuring means for measuring surface potential of the photoreceptor; counting means for counting the rotation speed of the photoreceptor; a recording memory for recording the surface potential and/or the rotation speed of the photoreceptor; and photoreceptor replacement time determination and/or photoreceptor replacement time prediction means. The image forming apparatus performs determination of a time for replacement and/or prediction of a time for replacement on the basis of the amount of change in the surface potential of the photoreceptor after the charging and exposure and the pre-set reference surface potential change amount. |
