PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet for a knitted cloth, a washer, and a method for attaching the grommet.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for attaching a grommet to a knitted cloth, the grommet comprising: a metal grommet body (1) and a synthetic resin or metal washer (2, 2A to 2K). The method comprises the steps of: punching out the knitted cloth and the synthetic-resin washer (2, 2A to 2K) by a cylindrical lower end (15) of the metal grommet body (1); and swaging the metal grommet body (1) and a punching residue of the washer. It is required that a surface of the washer which is brought into contact with the cylindrical lower end (15) is smooth, but other parts of the washer may be inclined or may be a grooved ring. |
