PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel that includes a fishing line guiding body having a simple construction and capable of reducing the release resistance of a fishing line and compactifying the longitudinal length of a reel body.SOLUTION: The fishing reel comprises: a spool 5A supported freely rotatably between the side plates of a reel body 2; and a level wind device 50 including a fishing line guiding body 60, into which a fishing line to be let off from the spool 5A is inserted and which moves reciprocally between the right and left side plates. The fishing line guiding body 60 includes: a transversely narrow fishing line guiding portion 67, supported, in front of the spool, interchangeably between a fishing line winding state and a fishing line releasing state and guiding the fishing line in the fishing line winding state to the spool; a transversely wide opening 68 for reducing the releasing resistance of the fishing line in the fishing line releasing state; and a regulation portion 69 for preventing the fishing line from leaving the fishing line guiding portion in the fishing line winding state. |
