Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method, a base station, and a user equipment (UE) for handover between wireless networks. The method for handover between wireless networks comprises: a source base station sending a handover request to a target base station, the handover request having candidate wireless fidelity access point (Wi-Fi AP) information; and the source base station sending a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message to a UE, the RRC connection reconfiguration message instructing the UE to be handed over from the source base station to the target base station, and the RRC connection reconfiguration message having target Wi-Fi AP information obtained by the target base station according to the candidate Wi-Fi AP information, so that the UE accesses a target Wi-Fi AP during or after the handover from the source base station to the target base station. According to the embodiments of the present invention, during cell handover, because the UE is notified of the target Wi-Fi AP in advance, the UE can rapidly access the target Wi-Fi AP during or after the handover, thereby reducing time of Wi-Fi transmission interruption caused by the cell handover. |
