PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance that inhibits the interaction between HSF1 and RPA1, further to provide an inhibiting agent containing such a substance to inhibit the HSF1- RPA1 interaction, anticancer agents containing such a substance, methods for preventing or treating tumor by administering such a substance to non-human animals and a screening method for anti-tumor agents, since HSF1 is attracting great attention as a target for cancer treatment but inhibitors of HSF1 activity have not been found.SOLUTION: The invention is based on the finding that the wing region of HSF1 interacts with the ssDNA-binding domain of RPA1, and amino acid substitution in the wing region of HSF1 or in the ssDNA-binding domain inhibits the complex formation between HSF1 and RPA1, that is, it inhibits the interaction between HSF1 and RPA1, which significantly suppresses the proliferation of melanoma cells being one of the tumor cells. |
